About Me
As a multi-media artist, my work is a reflection of my journey as a first-generation immigrant. Within my work, I explore vivid colors and experiment with different mediums that resonate with my exploration of self-identity.
Throughout my undergrad years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I studied in New Media and Film Production. I aim to document the fruitful life and ambitions of others. As opposed to the self-focused works in other mediums, I aspire to capture the essence of stories and create intimate connections between the subjects and the viewers.
In my digital illustrations, I focus on femininity, gender expression and the queer identity. Grappling on my own struggle with self-acceptance, I use my illustrations as a conduit to seek better understanding in myself. I strive to expand on my illustrative abilities in the future, where I manifest my ideas into comics.
Crochet and up-cycling clothing becomes a tactile extension of my art. My love for sustainable fashion practices inspires me to make my own long-lasting clothes through crochet and altering existing pieces. My passion in fashion is reflected in my fashion illustrations as well, where I focus on the intricate designs and stitch-work in my drawings.
Through these various art forms, I aim to provoke thought and dialogue, encouraging others to engage with their own narratives and explore the complexities of identity and belonging. My art is an invitation to celebrate the richness in diversity and the power of self-discovery.
